The National Headache Foundation and The HealthCentral Network Form Alliance
To Develop New Online Resources for Headache Sufferers
Arlington, VA and Chicago, IL — The HealthCentral Network, Inc. (www.HealthCentral.com) and the National Headache Foundation (NHF) today announced that NHF will join HealthCentral’s network of expert advisors and produce a regular blog for HealthCentral’s migraine community at MyMigraineConnection.com. The HealthCentral Network and NHF will also collaborate on additional projects in service of NHF’s mission to raise awareness about headache causes and treatments as well as the latest headache research.
“HealthCentral provides an ideal forum for NHF to promote understanding about the diagnosis and treatment of headache,” said Suzanne Simons, Executive Director of NHF. “Working together, we will be able to reach headache sufferers with the latest research and information and empower them to be more proactive, educated healthcare consumers.” Simons and Susan Barron, Membership Services and Support Group Coordinator, will share authorship of the blog.
“HealthCentral is pleased to showcase NHF’s unrivaled experience and insights into promising headache research, and the science behind the causes, prevention, and management of chronic headaches,” said Christopher M. Schroeder, CEO and President of The HealthCentral Network.
NHF sponsors critical research such as the American Migraine Prevalence and Prevention Study, produces extensive patient education materials, advocates for better patient education on migraine disease and other neurological disorders, and convenes interdisciplinary panels on topics such as migraine prevention and patient communication issues, and establishes Standards of Care for Headache Diagnosis and Treatment. HealthCentral’s MyMigraineConnection.com offers leading resources for those living with the condition, including clinical information, connections with renowned migraine experts and an active peer-to-peer community.
