The Attention Deficit Disorder Association and The HealthCentral Network Form Alliance to Develop New Online Resources for Adult ADHD

Arlington, VA and Mount Laurel, NJ - The Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) (www.add.org) and The HealthCentral Network (www.HealthCentral.com) today announced that members of the senior leadership of ADDA will join the team of experts at HealthCentral's ADHDCentral.com, a site devoted to helping patients and caregivers cope with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Leaders from ADDA, the world's foremost adult ADHD organization, will produce a regular blog for HealthCentral's ADHD community, focused on topics important to adults living with ADHD such as workplace, relationship, and treatment issues. HealthCentral and ADDA will also collaborate to develop original e-newsletter content, interactive assessments and polls, and other features to leverage HealthCentral's extensive multimedia capabilities and ADDA's authoritative resources.

"Adult ADHD has not gotten the attention that childhood ADHD has, yet between one-third and one-half of children with ADHD continue to have symptoms as adults," said Victoria Elliott, Executive Director of ADDA. "HealthCentral's network of individuals living with the condition offers us the opportunity to increase awareness about the effects of ADHD on adults, and the many resources available to help manage it. Left untreated, ADHD can lead to depression, anxiety and relationship problems at work and home".

"We are delighted to work with ADDA's experts to bring new hope and practical information to our ADHDCentral.com's visitors," said Chris Schroeder, CEO and President of The HealthCentral Network. "There are natural synergies between ADDA's coaching and medical professionals with expertise on adult ADHD, and HealthCentral's cutting-edge social networking applications that help people living with ADHD find, inform and support one another."
